One of the most important things a fashionista can know when trying to keep her clothing nice is how to remove stains from everything. When you are wearing brights and lights, this is so very important. So what do you do if you get grass or wine on your favorite dress? You don’t have to go to the dry cleaner. Instead, you can try these DIY stain removers:
If you have children, you are likely to know all about grass stains. Even if you don’t, just walking through the grass can really stain up your favorite shoes or jeans. If you have grass stains, try this:
- Mix a detergent with water.
- Apply the paste to your clothing and allow it to sit for about 30 minutes – you should be able to see it lift.
- If this doesn’t work, repeat the above but add vinegar to the mix.
The bane of any little black dress is deodorant – there is nothing worse than pulling on a dress and seeing lines of deodorant on it. If this is you, try these steps to remove it:
- Soak your top for about 20 seconds to break up the build up.
- Mix a detergent with just a drop of water and then push it into the fabric – do not tear your fingers down the fabric. Allow this mixture to sit for fifteen minutes.
- Machine wash you garment.
Red wine is always tasty, but it is difficult to remove from your garment. Sometimes, if you have had a little bit too much red wine, you end up with some all over your outfit. So how do you get red wine out? Follow these steps:
- Cover the stain with salt ASAP.
- Allow the salt to sit for at least 15 minutes, you will be able to see it working.
- Pour boiling water over the stain and repeat if you still see a dark stain.
- You can also use white wine in a pinch – but salt works much better
Lipstick, especially from a better brand, can be quite annoying to get out of your favorite clothes – or your sweetie’s shirt. To remove lipstick stains, do the following:
- Soak the garment in cold water.
- Use Dawn dish soap to scrub into the stain.
- Repeat until you see the stain almost gone.
- Wash as you normally would.
Do you have any other tips for removing stains?
We all have body parts that we love to show off and body parts that we don’t like. If you have something you like to show off, you want to flaunt it and highlight it. You can do this while hiding some of the parts of your body that you don’t want to show off.
However, the first thing that you want to do is figure out which part of your body you want to show off – we all have something different. Once you figure that out, you will be able to highlight it in a way that is effective.
If Your Favorite Body Part is Your Rear End…
You either really love your booty or you don’t like it. Many of us are learning to love our bigger backsides – and we love showing them off even more.
So how can you show off your rear end? The first way is to wear skinny jeans with a good pair of heels – you will get some lift on your rear end and some highlighting from the shape of the jeans. You might also want to wear pencil skirts or silky fabrics, as they tend to cling to your curves.
If Your Favorite Body Part is Your Shoulders…
If you believe that you have a great pair of shoulders, there are many ways to show them off – ways that aren’t just cold shoulder tops. In fact, there are some things you can wear that keep you covered and show them off.
You can wear anything sleeveless if you have strong arms with muscles to spare. You can wear sleeveless dresses, tank tops, and sweetheart dresses. If you want to be covered, you may also want to wear cap sleeves. This will highlight and draw attention to your shoulders.
If Your Favorite Body Part is Your Waist…
If you want to show off your waist, you want to draw eyes to the middle of your body. You can do this in many ways – once again, ways that cover you up and ways that do not.
Consider adding warp dresses to your wardrobe – they make almost all bodies look great. You can also wear pencil skirts with a belt in a popping color. Add empire waist dresses to your wardrobe as well.
No matter what part of your body you want to show off, there is something you can wear to highlight it. If you need more ideas, look throughout the rest of our website for tips.
Some of our favorite things to wear are sundresses because they look so good on just about every shape. No matter what time of the year it is, a sundress is easy to wear. In the summer, you can just throw it on. In the winter months, you can add it to a cardigan and leggings combo for the best results.
But how do you find the best sun dress for your body shape?
Here are a few tips:
A- Line Sundresses
A-line sundresses is flattering for just about all body shapes. It balances out all parts of your body and is forgiving if you eat a big lunch. Because it slightly flares at the hemline, it will even out people who carry a little bit more weight in the belly, but still skims your curves so that people can see you do have a shape. The one area you need to pay attention in an a-line sundress is the neck – that can really change the entire dress. A higher neck is better for people who have larger chests whereas a lower neckline can give the appearance of a larger chest.
Somewhat elusive in the sundress world, the wrap sundress is a perfect addition to any wardrobe. If you are apple or hourglass shaped, you will look absolutely amazing in a wrap dress. However, pears and athletic bodies can look great in those as well. Because you do the wrapping, you get some personal control over just how your dress looks. Make sure to try different types of wrapping (and different ties) to see just how you will look.
Shift sundresses are great for days when it is really hot and you don’t want anything touching your skin. This is perfect because it doesn’t skim your body, but it still has a shape so that you don’t look too boxy. Many women don’t like this shape and it isn’t always flattering on everyone – so make sure you try it on.
Fit and Flare Sundresses
If you like to highlight your stunning figure, a fit and flare sundress might be the best one for you – especially if you are a pear or an hourglass shape. Your waistline and busy will be accentuated and you can hide some of your “problem” areas easily.
